Einstein's Dreams Zine
Abstracting an excerpt from the novel by Alan Lightman
Einstein’s Dreams is a collage of fictional stories of dreams had by Albert Einstein that play with imaginative worlds where time and physics are perceived in different ways.
This zine focuses on the chapter titled "22 June 1905", where the dream creates a world in which the future is completely predetermined. It is an analysis on the effect on individuals deprived of free will, where there is no right or wrong and people become observers of their own lives rather than the ones controlling them.
The background images were created by photographing images through various transparent containers holding water, allowing the photos to appear warped and heavily abstracted. A similar treatment was done to the typography, where the type was printed and then photographed in the same manner to create a bending and floating appearance.
